Vintage Persian Hamadan Modernist Rug

A vintage Persian Hamadan Modernist rug. The tessalation of the field into small squares was a popular Persian city design approach in the 1950’s. Here yellow, ecru and light blue small rectangles are randomly, but fairly closely, set on the deep abrashed charcoal ground within more traditional borders including two ivory minors with chains of small pale yellow lozenges.
