A vintage Persian Hamadan rug. The skillfully abrashed blue to dark brown ground features a jostling array of irregular, small sort-of-hexagonal shapes in sand and brown. The red border is similarly irregular with clumsy rosettes. Totally informal, perhaps a beginner’s first rug. Certainly rustic and untutored.
