A vintage Persian Isfahan rug. Not your usual medallion and arabesque Isfahan scatter, this very finely woven central Persian city scatter has an open pale straw field with nested corner squares centered by a traditional 16-lobed, doubly pendant medallion with flower garlands at the final ends. The main russet border is wide and totally plain and all the other stripes are equally unfigured. Has an Art Deco flavor, but probably from somewhat later.
