A wool pile of symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. Red fields on room-size Karajas are uncommon in the type. Here, three columns of iconic octagram and hexagon medallions alternate in offset rows. The hexagons are hooked, and those in the central column show dark blue grounds. Partial guls, serrated leaves, birds, animals, stars, and rosettes densely decorate the reserves. An unusual straw border with boxes, herringboned plants, and serrated leaves frames the piece. A particularly imaginative village carpet.
