A vintage Persian Karajeh rug.
Karaja (Karajeh) village lies on the edge of the Heriz weaving district and produces scatters and runners with the characteristic, as here, hooked hexagon and side pointed square medallions alternating on red or dark blue grounds. The green ground with a stem and dot flower pattern of the border is another Karajeh feature.
