A vintage Persian Kerman rug. This is characteristic ivory ground Kerman made for the American market in the 1940’s. The floating, detached floral sprays around the extremely detailed tall lozenge medallion are reminiscent of “American” Sarouks. The broken main border has no lines dividing inner, main and outer stripes. The border design is dense and detailed. The palette is soft and light, with nearly twenty natural dye tones. The execution is precise and intricate.
