A vintage Turkish Sivas rug. The rust-brown field displays three complete or partial columns of slightly lobed open octagons with cruciform centers along with stepped intermediate motives. The ivory border of this eastern Turkish workshop scatter displays unusual in-and-out palmettes. The lack of vertical pattern symmetry only adds to the infinite textile character of the design.
