A wool pile of asymmetric knots on a cotton foundation. This interwar piece features a sapphire blue field with a pattern of closely set, curving floral sprays in the American Sarouk manner. The design was so popular during this period that it was widely copied throughout Persia. A bone border with shield-shaped cartouches and smaller palmettes frames the composition.
