Antique Persian Lavar Kerman Rug

An antique Persian Lavar Kerman rug. Kerman never does the Herati pattern, but this comes fairly close with its open lozenges, but then veers away in the blue forked arabesques.  The pattern never lets up on the ivory field with tiny rosettes, rough leaves, and miscellaneous squiggles.  The pale buff border is equally dense with palmettes, rosettes, and vines in the idiosyncratic Kerman manner.
