Vintage Persian Mahal Room Size Carpet

This piece features a wool pile of asymmetric knots on a cotton foundation and is significantly distressed. It shows a generally light tonality in both the field and border, with faint traces of an allover Herati pattern in the field and a reversing palmette design in the border, which features runs of darker abrash. There are also subtle hints of blue and brown in the pattern.
