Vintage Persian Malayer Carpet

A vintage Persian Malayer carpet. The umber brownfield displays three columns of fringed ivory pointed elliptical palmettes and chunky barely bent en suite simple leaves. The medium brown border holds geometric palmettes within a broadly undulating vine with passages in cerulean blue. This attractive west Persian long rug could be a Hamadan rather than a Malayer, but the difference does not affect the artistic quality.
