Vintage Persian Malayer Pictorial Rug

A vintage Persian Malayer Pictorial rug. The sky is dark blue and the background hills are in deepest shadow, but the orange sun blazes in one corner, while a tawny and brown tiger prowls about. The distant pairs of horned herbivores under the trees look rather unconcerned. The dark blue border of candles, butterflies, birds, and flowers adds an incongruously amusing touch. Rugs are short-warped.
