A definitely unusual room size west Persian carpet composed of two long rugs, with similar, but not truly identical patterns, each of seven columns of botehs on dark slate grounds. All the cones face right, but on one half is an additional row of jaunty peacocks. Each half has its own border of stars and slanted leaves. The halves are exactly the same length, and the design must have been conceived as a whole rather than an after the fact assemblage. Cotton foundation, medium weave. Good condition.
