A vintage Persian Malayer rug. This well woven west Persian village ruglet has a madder red field with leafy stems developing from a central serrated rosette. Two large palmettes act as pendants on the central shaft, with a few small areas knotted in white cotton. The ochre border displays an angular vine and palmettes. Looks like a pocket size Heriz carpet.
