A vintage Persian Malayer rug. In a Joshegan style, with a stepped, lozenge medallion centered by a four palmette cruciform , on an abrashed slate ground with lozenge-shaped floral arrays. The main border of this west Persian rural scatter display rosettes in a camel-gold lozenge chain. The weaver must have seen Joshegan rugs in the local rug bazaar and tried her hand at copying them.
