Vintage Persian Malayer Rug

A vintage Persian Malayer rug. The graphite field and the Herati pattern both abrash out of sync on this unusual west Persian Dozar scatter. The pattern is detailed in dark brown, yellow-rust and sand. The dark brown boteh-chain minor borders attractively frame this in-and-out of focus piece. The ‘fish’ leaves the group together and blur slightly tonally.
