A vintage Persian Malayer runner. Light blue accents the main border with its pyramidal palmettes, but is entirely avoided in the slate field with its central chin off fringed lozenges and attendant pairs of small ‘fish’ leaves. The design originated as Herati, but the west Persian village weavers have worked it up into something new.
