An antique French Aubusson carpet. A 5 by 4 square grid in trompe l'oeil displays sculptural rosettes within “recessed “panels to give it the effect of a Neo-Classical ceiling, but on the floor! Nothing Neo, so try Regency, Biedermeier, or Art Deco for an enhancing match. The flat woven tapestry technique gives it a crisp visual texture and the colors are all the same key.
