A vintage Persian Malayer runner. The light blue field displays a popular Malayer design of three poles on which hang color sampler squares, serrated leaves, octagons, oblique thick vines, “bow ties” and other semi-geometric devices. This pattern appears on west Persian Malayer village weavings in scatter, runner and kellegi formats, almost always with a light blue or soft blue-grey ground.
