A vintage Persian Mashad carpet. This is an unusual urban variation on the popular all over Mina Khani design of rosettes and concave lozenges. At this scale, the pattern on the beige ground attains a textile character. Well-drawn lancet leaves with the end “caps” are notable in the turtle border. Small botehs swim in the circular reserves of the field pattern.
