Vintage Persian Mashad Pictorial Rug

A vintage Persian Mashad Pictorial rug. This urban pictorial tells a story described in the long texts in the deep red field. Under the calumniated arch, the lion and sun, and Ahuramazda are positioned above scenes of a king (?), courtiers, a woman abed, an angel (?) and other characters.  This urban pictorial shows navy spandrels and border with flower patterns. The tale is something out of Persian history or legend and awaits a proper translation.
