A vintage Persian Sarouk rug. This solidly woven village scatter shows an abrashed brownfield well-covered with a medallion and leafy spray design, within a narrow border of curved leaves and palmettes. The drawing is somewhat angular and the rug was woven from memory without the use of samplers or paper cartoons. Sarouk rugs are famous for their long-wearing character.
