A vintage Persian Tabriz Pictorial rug. A traditionally garbed and bearded male religious scholar is depicted in half- length facing to the left, holding a large book, against a dark navy plain background and within a red border with goldenrod acanthus decoration. An inscription above identifies the figure, and one below in the border marks the location and identity of the urban workshop.
