Vintage Persian Textile

Wool pattern warps and wefts in a warp- and weft-faced plainweave. There are no bold ecru stripes here, but instead a generally subdued purplish effect created by red and blue bands. Colorful stitched joins in off-white, light blue, and canary yellow add visual interest. Color mixing is achieved through herringbone and twill techniques. Qashghai work.
