Vintage Turkish Anatolian Pictorial Rug

A wool pile of symmetric knots on a wool foundation. Although both end borders are missing, this unusual yastik retains a dark brown to near-black field depicting two confronting stags in pale taupe-gray and ivory, with impressive racks of antlers. A bare straw-beige tree stands between them, while small birds in coral pink, pale yellow, gray, and ivory appear above. The ecru side borders display floating S-motifs in brown, muted pink, gray-violet, and green.
