Vintage Turkish Anatolian Room Size Carpet

A wool pile of symmetric knots on a wool foundation. The exceptional dark wine field shows a central column of three stepped octagons in rust red and abrashed oyster, each containing either bulbous X’s or a stepped inner octagon. Toward the sides are smaller octagons, fringed lozenges, or gul-like cruciforms. The outer border features colorful rhomboids or reciprocal triangles, while an inner stripe shows a close trapezoidal meander with associated fillers.
