A wool pile of symmetric knots on a wool foundation. Dated 1986 and signed illegibly. Although the top border is very narrow, this rustic room-size piece still reflects its Kazak roots, with an abrashed red-brown field centered by a pendanted, nearly plain hexagonal medallion enclosing a smaller, conforming sub-medallion. Four secondary outlined hexagons complement the design. Bold corner elements with tab fringes. A strongly abrashed dark brown border features a bare trapezoidal meander and decorative stars. Colorful tassels appear at one end.
