Vintage Turkish Anatolian Runner

A wool pile of symmetric knots on a wool foundation. The strongly abrashed field, shifting from red and scarlet to coral, salmon, and orange-rust, supports a pole of seven jagged hexagonal medallions rendered in ivory, black, cobalt blue, purple, lavender, pale green, red, and touches of straw-yellow. The surrounding pale blue-grey to lavender border displays chains of stylized floral and fan-palmette motifs in a wide range of colors. At each end is a strip of large multicolored rosettes, a design that originally continued along the sides as well.
