A vintage Turkish Sivas rug. Sivas rugs, like their Tabriz cousins, are often at their best with light, even pastel, tonalities. This extremely Persianate example has an ecru field and light rust scalloped oval medallion. The well-drawn floral ornament is both delicate and dense. The weave is-- moderate on an all cotton foundation.
