Antique Caucasian Shirvan Rug

An antique Caucasian Shirvan rug. From the eastern Caucasus regardless. Two columns of small. Stepped lozenge medallions with octagon and crosshatch centers stand out on the dark blue ground with a central column of en suite octagons between. A serrated slanted leaf and simple calyx ecru ground border makes a traditional frame. The presence of bright orange dates the rug in the last decade of the 19th century.
