An antique Caucasian Shirvan rug. This east Caucasian medium finely knotted long scatter has the “Konagend” pattern of (five) octagons on a blue-black ground with rectangular/triangular side and corner fillers. The ivory calyx and slant leaf border appear all over the Caucasus and in much of Persia as well.
