An antique Chinese Peking carpet. A 1920’s blue and white carpet, with two artfully shaped trees projecting into the ivory field and sporting wisteria-like foliage sprays.  The pattern is asymmetric and resembles a Chinese hanging scroll as much as a floor carpet. Other branches with their own characteristic foliage also appear in secondary roles.  Rosettes and thin vines ornament the very narrow border.
