A wool pile of symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. The open red field depicts an upper three quarter view of a 1928 Ford touring car, with an explanatory calligraphic oval above. The inscription is Ottoman Turkish, written in the old Arabic derived script, and reads, “A New Ford.” Two period dressed figures ride in the rear. The border features a hexagon chain of cartouches, half ashiks, and stepped lozenges. Possibly an advertising rug made for a car dealership of the period.
