Antique East Turkestan Kirghiz Rug

An antique East Turkestan Kirghiz rug. The Kirghiz sheepherding tribes of Central Asia weave carpets with Khotan influences such as the round medallion, Chinese-influences such as the swastika fret border, and the long carpet kang format. This example has a flat pile and a deep dark blue ground with three medallions and triangular fret corners.
