A vintage Persian Malayer rug. Although the brick field shows a few Herati open lozenges, this is no such pattern, but includes several human stick figures, birds, animals and plentiful botehs, all unconnected and closely packed together. The strongly abrashed blue to grey border of this amusing west Persian rustic scatter features turtle palmettes with wavy, serpentine “arms”.
