Antique Persian Afshar Accent Rug

A wool pile of symmetric knots on a wool foundation. This tribal piece features a faded coral-red to soft-terracotta, triply pointed subfield filled with rosettes, set against a pale blue-grey to warm-ecru ground scattered with smaller rosettes, diamonds, blossoms, and sineklis. At the center is a pinched, stepped, moderately conforming soft blue-grey panel enclosing a pole medallion of three densely hooked diamonds in straw, sand, tan, and muted rust-brown. The six points of the red subfield terminate in cruciform finials. Two slender borders display stars, while the central light-colored stripe features four-leaf clovers.
