Antique Persian Tabriz Carpet

An antique Persian Tabriz carpet. A complex allover pattern of straight long leaves, stabilizing rosettes and hard-to-describe elements is rendered ion brown and beige tones on this urban NW Persian carpet. It is not the Herati design, however, but a much less common, and equally rigorous, pattern. The border displays little turtle palmettes and other associated motives.
