An antique Persian Shiraz Distressed rug. The Khamseh tribes operate around the south Persian city of Shiraz, and seemingly unclassified rugs from that area are generically termed “Shiraz”. This nomadic scatter has a navy field displaying a triple lozenge pole medallion within a dense scatter fill of small diamonds, botehs, and geometric devices. The rosette and flattened, undulating vine border has urban design sources. The pile has some wear, but the look is still clean.
