An antique Persian Bikhtiari carpet. The noticeably abrashed charcoal field displays four large stepped lozenges with palmette cruciform centers, surrounded by small, parallel stem and bud arrays. Weeping willows also appear prominently in the pattern. The abrashed pale grey border on this rustic Chahar Mahal village room size carpet is delicately drawn with flowers and sprays, and is totally out of scale with the field.
