An antique Persian Bidjar carpet. An almost mansion-sized carpet for your almost mansion. On an abrashed graphite ground, offset columns of ragged palmettes detailed in dark brown, red-brown, grey-green, goldenrod, rust and old ivory are framed by eleven (!) borders including a blue to the grey main border with a turtle palmette pattern and minors with round flowers, tendril, and double buds. This very compactly woven west Persian Kurdistan town carpet derives its layout, but without the rosettes and other characteristic devices of the allover Harshang pattern.
