Antique Persian Khorossan Rug

An antique Persian Khorassan rug. A sixteen lobed ivory nearly round medallion floats alone on the open rust field of this NE Persian antique scatter, probably from the town of Dorokhsh. The corners are en suite with the central motif and the dark brown outer border has a detached boteh design. The pile is particularly soft and silky.
