An antique Persian Kurd Bidjar rug. “Kurd” Bidjars are actually rugs from the Kurdish villages around the town of Bidjar in Persian Kurdistan. This scatters displays a quadruple radiating serrated leaf design around central foliate cruciforms, all in two columns on the brownish graphite ground. This design as well as the slanted leaf and calyx border pattern is popular in the Kazak district of the Caucasus and in NW Persia as well.
