Antique Persian Kurdish Gallery Carpet

A wool pile of symmetric knots on a wool foundation. The strongly panel-abrash field, ranging from dark slate gray to pale blue-gray, displays three nearly identical goldenrod and olive-gold urns, each crowned by clustered geometric floral or fruit forms. Large divided lozenges and leaf-shaped devices in ivory, pale blue, tan, and brown occupy the lateral reserves, while branching stems appear to grow from the bases of the urns. The broad pale blue-gray main border features a lattice of linked diamonds and geometric devices in ivory, tan, golden brown, and dark brown.
