Antique Persian Kurdish Rug

An antique Persian Kurdish rug. An open, rural version of the Herati allover pattern runs under the end borders but is contained on the camel field. The ochre main stripe shows large, veined blue slanted leaves and small, simplified palmettes in alternation. The blues range from powder to turquoise, and the Herati design is attractively delineated in them rather than the usual ivory.
