An antique Persian Kurdish carpet from the early 20th century. The western Persian Kurdish tribes often employed repeating geometric field designs, as here, with hexagonal lattices enclosing square and arrowhead cruciforms. There is no ground color as the twinned hexagons change tone repeatedly along the field. Dark blue, gold, green, ivory, claret and brown are among the myriad of detail colors. Everything is a detailed color! This rug is rustic and warms in any environment.
