Antique Persian Lavar Kerman Large Carpet

A wool pile of asymmetric knots on a cotton foundation. The soft slate field shows a sketchy tricolumnar pattern, with the two side columns each presenting four eye-shaped medallions, while the central column displays partially pointed quatrefoils. A red-ground main border of forked or voluted leaves frames the field. Finely woven and of Lavar quality, with a generally reduced palette.
