Antique Persian Lavar Kerman Room Size Carpet

A wool pile of asymmetric knots on a cotton foundation. Executed in a classic tile pattern, the rug features larger octagram-like tiles in camel, sand, warm beige, navy, burgundy, muted brick red, and soft olive, decorated with weeping willows, four-way medallions, floral bursts, and standing plants. These contrast with smaller cross-shaped tiles displaying blossoms and cruciform motifs. The continuous navy main border features rosettes, doubled at the corners, and gently lobed ogival palmettes in ivory, rose, tan, and brown. This tile pattern traces its origins to 13th-century Kashan ceramic revetments.
