An antique Persian Mahal carpet. The open lozenges of the Herati pattern are combined with the full-face rosettes of the Mina Khani. Add imagination in the form of C-shaped leaves and palmettes on stalks is added, and, voila, we get a coral-brown ground west Persian village carpet with exceptionally spacious drawing. A brick border of unfurling palettes and dynamic scrolling vines adds another striking touch.
