An antique Persian Mahal carpet. The slate ground displays vertical strips of what is actually a petalled-palmette and thin vine border pattern as actually manifested in the tonally en suite main border here. Camel, ochre, red-brown, and ivory among the accent the well-detailed field palmettes. The minor borders show undulating vine and hanging boteh patterns on this oversize west Persian rustic carpet.
