Antique Persian Mahal Large Carpet

A wool pile of asymmetric knots on a cotton foundation. The allover Herati pattern occupies the rust field, extending into the diamond medallion and the en suite corners, with royal blue accents throughout. Curved sickle leaves form open cartouches, dominating the open diamonds of the Herati design. A strip-style main border on a putty ground shows reversing turtle palmettes, rosettes, and curved leaves.
